Handshake Highlights

Students

Handshake is a one-stop shop for students to prepare and launch their careers; and for companies, nonprofits, and organizations of all shapes and sizes to find, recruit, and hire IUP alumni. Handshake uses data to help students find jobs or internships
that best match their interests.

Alumni

IUP alumni can sign up for Handshake using their personal email address. The IUP Single Sign-On function is available only for current students. If you are a current student, do not fill out the Alumni Registration Form, since your account has already been created.

Employers

  • Multi-school job posting—with just a few clicks, post your job across dozens of schools, for free. (Please register using a permanent staff member’s name and email address as the organization’s contact, and not someone in a temporary or internship position.)

  • Powerful applicant filtering—narrow down potential hires to the best fits through our advanced filter options.

  • Dedicated employer training and support—Handshake University will quickstart your experience with weekly webinars, videos, and help articles. Employers can also contact Handshake’s world-class support team for hands-on help.

  • One account, 350 schools! Ditch the dozens of websites, logins, and passwords. With Handshake you get a single integrated network.

The IUP Career and Professional Development Center staff are committed to helping students and alumni with visible and non-visible disabilities
find gainful and satisfying employment. A list of resources is available to assist students and alumni with their job search.

Please contact our office at 724-357-2235 or career-development@iup.edu if you have any questions or wish to schedule an appointment with one of our career counselors.

The Career and Professional Development Center offers a variety of career-oriented workshops that may be valuable to your curriculum or student
organization. To make this process more convenient for you, trained career consultants will present these topics on an as-needed basis. Workshops can be delivered in the classroom, at your club’s meeting, or in the Career and Professional Development
Center Classroom/Library.

If you require or offer extra credit to your students to create/update their resumes or visit the CPDC for any of our services, please let us know by completing the Faculty Assignment Request form.
