UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio — Damaging city property: Warrensville Center Road

At 7:40 a.m. Oct. 31, police responded to a report of a car that crashed into the pedestrian median crosswalk island, located in the area of 2384 Warrensville Center Road. Two pedestrian crossing signal lamps and support poles were destroyed.
Police cited a University Heights man, 22, for the safety zone infraction.
Assault: South Belvoir Boulevard
At 3:30 p.m. Oct. 26, a staff member at Bellefaire JCB, 2575 S. Belvoir Blvd., went to the police station to report being assaulted by a 13-year-old client. Police are investigating.
Larceny: Hillbrook Road
At 4:40 p.m. Oct. 27, a woman reported that she had been involved in some type of scam, and had lost $47,690.90. Police are investigating.
Civil matter: Warrensville Center Road
At 5:05 p.m. Oct. 29, a Cleveland woman, 42, went to the University Heights police station to report that she gave custody of her son, for one month, to the child’s father, a University Heights resident. The father, however, refused to return the son to her. Police took a report for information purposes.
Knowing abuse of 911: Carroll Boulevard
At 11:15 a.m. Oct. 30, Carroll Boulevard residents stated that police responded to their home based upon a false report made by their neighbor. The residents have been having difficulties with the neighbor.
Disturbing the peace: Warrensville Center Road
At 10:55 p.m. Oct. 30, police were called to a home located in the 2400 block of Warrensville Center Road on a noise complaint. Police cited four men, all John Carroll University students, for disturbing the peace. Cited were three New York men, ages 20, 20 and 21, and an Indiana man, 21.
Police advised the university of the offense.
Disturbing the peace: Baintree Road
Just before midnight Nov. 1, police received a complaint of a loud house party. After investigating, police charged a woman, 23, with disturbing the peace.
Felonious assault: Cedar Road
At 12:30 a.m. Nov. 1, police were called to an apartment building on a report of a man assaulting a woman with a handgun. At the scene, the woman, 28, told officers that the man is a former boyfriend against whom she had a protection order.
The woman did not require medical care. The man fled before police arrived and has not been apprehended.
