Metro Nashville police are investigating a fatal shooting near Fisk University and Andrew Jackson Courts apartments.
The shooting was reported about 12:20 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Jackson Street and 16th Avenue North in the city’s Hope Gardens neighborhood.
North Precinct officers were nearby when they heard the shots fired and found the victim inside of his car, which crashed into a building. The car was riddled with multiple bullet holes.

The victim, who had been shot multiple times, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Witnesses at the scene said they heard at least six shots fired. Police were investigating in an alleyway near the apartment complex.
Police said no suspect is in custody.
No other injuries were reported at the scene.
