Barry University Commits to Cover Full Tuition for Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Recipients and Announces Upcoming Drive-in Tour

MIAMI, Dec. 2, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Florida’s top achieving high school graduates can soon take advantage of the personalized educational experience and world-class instruction offered at Barry University, without worrying about tuition.  The university today announced its commitment to meet full tuition for full-time first-year Barry students who earn the Florida Bright Futures Academic Scholarship, beginning Fall 2021.

While it is typically regarded as a scholarship for public Florida institutions, Barry has long accepted the value of the state lottery-funded Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program Academic Scholars and Medallion Scholars awards. Today’s commitment will fill the gap between the value of the scholarship and Barry tuition for incoming first-year Florida Academic Scholarship recipients.

Award earners will receive Barry-funded scholarships and grants which, combined with the Florida Academic Scholarship and other federal and state-funded grants, will meet 100% of tuition.  The financial aid package is renewable each academic year

Trump commits to stepping down if electoral college votes for Biden

President Trump said on Thursday that he would leave the White House if the electoral college voted for President-elect Joe Biden next month, though he vowed to keep fighting to overturn the election he lost and said he may never concede.

Trump: ‘It’s going to be a very hard thing to concede’

“Certainly I will, and you know that,” he said when asked if he would leave the White House if the electoral college picked Biden.

Though advisers have long said he would leave on Jan. 20, it was Trump’s first explicit commitment to vacate office if the vote did not go his way.

Trump said he planned to continue to make claims of fraud about the results and said, without evidence, that Biden could not have won close to 80 million votes. His legal team has been widely mocked — and has lost

’21 Defensive Back Shawn Asbury II Commits to Boston College

Boston College landed a new commitment on Friday as North Stafford (VA) defensive back Shawn Asbury flipped from Virginia Tech to the Eagles.

Asbury is considered a three star recruit by most of the recruiting services and has offers from Pitt, Virginia Tech, Kansas, Temple, Navy amongst a slew of Group of Six schools. He originally had committed to the Hokies back in June. This is yet another commitment in the catch area of defensive back coach Aazaar Abdul Rahim, who has been dominant in the DMV area. Asbury is the sixth commitment from the area.

Earlier this week the Eagles lost a commitment from safety Marvin Martin, so clearly landing a recruit of this caliber helps the class. The Eagles continue to build their defensive back group that now includes Asbury, Cole Batson, Clinton Burton Jr, Jalen Williams, Jalen Cheeks and Shawn Gates.

JACKSON – Scott Farley has always viewed Dorion Riley as a college-level talent.

After Riley’s standout freshman season for the Vikings on the junior varsity team, the Jackson High head football coach knew the future was bright for the up-and-coming football player within his program.

Three seasons later, Riley has eclipsed every rusher that came before him, setting a new school record for career rushing yards with 3,615 yards from scrimmage. In just six games this fall, Riley nearly outproduced his 10-game total from 2019, rushing for 1,726 yards and 23 touchdowns for the Vikings.

Riley added another milestone to his career this week when he verbally committed to continue his football career at Ferris State University.

“It was definitely something I was feeling for a while,” said Riley of his college decision. “I just felt

’21 DE/OLB Tyeus Clemons Commits To Boston College

Boston College landed a commitment from ’21 defensive/outside linebacker Tyeus Clemons on Tuesday.

The Eagles were the first Power 5 offer for the Harvest, Alabama native, who did not have a rating on any of the recruiting sites. Based on his film he is the type of player that would have blown up at camps, and got more offers, but because of COVID-19 he remained undiscovered until now. The Eagles staff has been busy of late in Alabama, earlier this month they landed a commitment from Quintayvious Hutchins, also a DE/OLB.

At the time of the offer Clemons said “Looks amazing, exactly what you would think a good school should look like.” Defensive line coach Vince Oghobaase also clearly left an impression on the recruit, who said “He sounds amazing and really excited to get to know and coach me.”

Today after his decision, he explained why he chose the

’22 WR Ismael Zamor Commits To Boston College

Boston College added to their Class of ’22 today as Everett (MA) wide receiver Ismael Zamor verbally committed to the Eagles.

Zamor is a 6’1 wide receiver, from Everett High School, a school that has produced Boston College players such as Lukas Denis, Manny Asprilla and Jason Maitre. The junior chose the Eagles over offers from Michigan, Syracuse, Temple and a host of mid major programs. He is considered a three star recruit by

BC Bulletin caught up with Zamor shortly after his decision. He gave his rationale on why he chose the Eagles, “It starts with Coach Hafley , he’s changed things around since he’s got there and everyone on the staff are just great people ,and I want to be a part of what they’re building over there at Chestnut Hill!”

This is a big get for the Boston College staff. Zamor is considered the fourth ranked
