Amy Calabrese will replace the recently dismissed Christine Herring as senior woman administrator and associate athletic director on Louisville’s athletics staff, per approval Friday by the U of L Athletic Association board of directors.

Calabrese, a Louisville soccer player from 2003 to 2006, has been a Cardinals associate athletic director since 2019 and the sport administrator for women’s lacrosse, softball, women’s soccer and field hockey. She has managed the department’s Adidas internship program and Title IX education for staff and student-athletes.

Herring, a former track team captain, was fired in October. Her termination is effective as of Nov. 20, as confirmed to The Courier Journal, without explanation by university officials.
