What happened to Clemson vs. Florida State? Game postponed hours before kickoff due to COVID-19

UPDATE: Saturday’s game between Clemson and Florida State was postponed just hours before kickoff. On Saturday, the ACC announced the postponement after “both teams’ medical personnel were unable to mutually agree on moving forward with the game.”

For six straight seasons (2011-16), Clemson and Florida State played with both in the Top 25. Each time, the winner went on to win the Atlantic Division and then the conference championship.

The last three seasons, the Seminoles haven’t stood a chance, losing by an average of 32 points.

The good news for Florida State is that basketball season starts next week and the Seminoles, who finished No. 4 in the tournament-less last season, are No. 21 in the preseason poll.

Saturday’s game will air on ABC. If you don’t have cable or a similar TV service, you can also watch the game for free from

Thanksgiving weekend in the SEC usually brings a slate full of traditional and in-state rivalries that are as engrained into college football’s November routines as the feasts that will be enjoyed across the country. The lack of nonconference games has taken some of those out of rotation, but one of the best rivalries in the entire sport remains. What better pick for the SEC on CBS Game of the Week on Thanksgiving weekend than the rivalry that has divided family and friends in the state of Alabama for decades: the Iron Bowl.

No. 23 Auburn’s trip to No. 1 Alabama has been set for the 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff with Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson and Jamie Erdahl on the call from Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game can be seen on CBS and streamed on CBSSports.com or through CBS All Access and the CBS Sports App on mobile or OTT devices.

BIG NOON KICKOFF Discusses College Football Playoff Possibilities and More

On today’s edition of BIG NOON KICKOFF, host Rob Stone and analysts Brady Quinn, Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart and Urban Meyer talk about how this week’s cancellations and postponements could affect the College Football Playoff, if Group of 5 teams like Cincinnati and BYU have a Playoff path and more.

In Urban Dictionary, Meyer says he hasn’t said “The M Word’ in at least 40 years:
“The Team Up North is a term I used and I learned in the ’70s when the great Woody Hayes was coaching against the great Bo Schembechler in the greatest rivalry of all, the Wolverines against Ohio State. Woody Hayes would never use the term University of the M word. I just remember that from 30 years ago, and when I became head coach at Ohio State, we made that a rule around the facility. As a matter of fact, I don’t

Notre Dame vs. Boston College: Live stream, watch online, TV channel, coverage, kickoff time, odds, spread

No. 2 Notre Dame is coming off one of the biggest wins in its storied history, taking down then-No. 1 ranked Clemson in double-overtime last Saturday. Irish coach Brian Kelly spent all season discussing the “level of compete” required to not only win such a game, but maintain through the season with more work left in the pursuit of an ACC Championship and berth in the College Football Playoffs. That level of compete will be tested in a big way on Saturday on the road against Boston College.

It would be dangerous enough for the Irish to be facing a Boston College team that is just two weeks removed from holding a double-digit halftime lead at Clemson, but the historical connections are making this showdown even more tricky from a trap game or letdown spot perspective. Another one of Notre Dame’s great wins in program history was beating another No.

College football schedule, games 2020: What to watch in Week 11, TV channels, Saturday kickoff times

College football in 2020 has been through its toughest week yet. As the COVID-19 pandemic worsens throughout practically the entire country, it’s no surprise that numerous games have been postponed or canceled altogether. This week alone, 12 games will not go on as scheduled (as of publishing on Friday morning). Among the teams that will not play Saturday are No. 1 Alabama (at LSU), No. 3 Ohio State (at Maryland) and No. 5 Texas A&M (at Tennessee). With all 10 conferences up and running, however, there’s still plenty of football to play.

In particular, there are some big games in the ACC, Big Ten and Pac-12. Two top-10 teams — No. 9 Miami (FL) and No. 2 Notre Dame — are on the road. In the Big Ten, No. 10 Indiana heads to Michigan State while No. 23 Northwestern and Purdue battle in a West Division game with major implications.

Texas A&M will continue its push for inclusion in the College Football Playoff race in a high-profile SEC West matchup against Ole Miss that has been picked as the SEC on CBS Game of the Week for Week 12.

The Nov. 21 date in College Station will be an opportunity for the Aggies to impress the College Football Playoff selection committee just days after releasing the first batch of rankings for 2020. Texas A&M is in a tough position in the SEC championship race due to its head-to-head loss to Alabama, but with a win over Florida on its resume, there is going to be plenty of debate as to where the one-loss Aggies stand against the best teams in the country over the coming weeks.

Of course, that assumes Texas A&M will be able to make it in and out of Knoxville this weekend with a win against
