Integration of Wolfram Blockchain Labs’ Distributed Ledger Technology Platform on the Bloxberg Blockchain

Wolfram Blockchain Labs (WBL) and the Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL) announce the integration between WBL’s distributed ledger technology (DLT) platform and the bloxberg infrastructure. Through this collaboration initiated by Max Planck Digital Library, the bloxberg blockchain is now fully integrated into the Wolfram Language (WL) and programmatically available for analytics, application development and computational exploration. WBL has developed a suite of functions in Wolfram Language that provide straightforward reading and writing capabilities for different blockchains. These functions also provide a powerful environment for users to create custom analytical tools. In order for these services to work seamlessly, WBL hosts nodes from Bitcoin, Ethereum, ARK and bloxberg in their high-performance cluster. This allows direct connections to blockchain nodes and a smooth integration with the Wolfram Language, for use either on the desktop (Mathematica) or cloud (Wolfram Cloud).

Rocket Lab’s next launch will feature a rocket recovery dress rehearsal

On Rocket Lab’s next launch to space, the company plans to go through all of the necessary steps to recover one of its rockets after takeoff — except for the very last step of actually catching the vehicle before it hits the ocean. This dress rehearsal should put Rocket Lab on course to save a rocket after an upcoming flight so that the vehicle can be flown again on a future mission.

The move is part of an ongoing quest by Rocket Lab to see if the company can reuse its primary rocket, called the Electron. The company’s end goal is similar to that of SpaceX, which recovers and reuses its rockets after flight. SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rockets target either a landing pad or an autonomous drone ship in the ocean following takeoff.

Rocket Lab’s next launch will deliver 30 satellites to orbit

Rocket Lab’s next mission will put dozens of satellites into orbit using the launch company’s Kick Stage “space tug,” as well as a 3D-printed garden gnome from Valve Software’s Gabe Newell. The latter is a test of a new manufacturing technique, but also a philanthropic endeavor from the gaming industry legend.

Scheduled for no earlier than November 15 (or 16 at the New Zealand launch site), the as-yet-unnamed launch — Rocket Lab gives all of their missions cheeky names — will be the company’s “most diverse ever,” it said in a press release.

A total of 30 satellites will be deployed using Rocket Lab’s own Kick Stage deployment platform, which like other “space tugs” detaches from the second stage once a certain preliminary orbit is reached and then delivers its payloads each at their own unique trajectory. That’s the most individual satellites every taken up at once by Rocket Lab.

Smart Mobile Labs AG has won the overall TUK public tender for five campus networks that are funded by the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure as part of the 5G-Kaiserslautern project. TUK is a recognized center of excellence for technology and industry research.
