PNW students return to campus

Purdue University Northwest recently received designation as a StormReady university.

The certification applies to both PNW’s Hammond and Westville campuses, as well as the university’s Gabis Arboretum.

The National Weather Service and the Northern Indiana and Chicago StormReady Advisory Boards awards the recognition given to government organizations, schools and cities that demonstrate a proactive approach to preparing for severe weather events, according to a PNW news release.

The university has been recognized as a StormReady university for more than eight year with certifications given every three years, according to the release.

Purdue partners with Morgan State University to help students shoot for the stars

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University, home to 25 astronauts and a leading aeronautics and astronautics program, will lend its expertise to Morgan State University as it launches its own liquid-fueled rocketry lab and training program, a first among Historically Black Colleges and Universities. 

As part of a partnership between Purdue and Morgan State, engineering students at the HBCU can also earn a degree from Purdue. Students studying civil engineering or engineering physics will complete three years at Morgan, earning enough credits for a bachelor’s degree, before moving to West Lafayette, where they can earn a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Morgan State’s Board of Regents approved the program in principle during its fall quarterly meeting. The two universities will work to finalize and get final approvals on the plan.

Purdue University Receives 3DP Equipment from Aprecia Pharmaceuticals

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. and CINCINNATI, Nov. 18, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Purdue University continues to make giant leaps in innovation with the recent 3D printing (3DP) equipment donation from its industry partner Aprecia Pharmaceuticals. Purdue University ‘nanoHUB’ receives 2020 R&D 100 Award

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University, a web platform for online scientific simulations and computing, seminars, and interactive courses has been chosen as one of the recipients of a 2020 R&D 100 Award.
