College football odds, lines, schedule for Week 13: Alabama opens as heavy favorite in 2020 Iron Bowl

The Week 13 college football slate will spread its best action across two days as five ranked teams are scheduled to take the field on Friday of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. In total, the Friday slate is scheduled to feature 12 games, including a huge Big 12 matchup between No. 15 Iowa State and No. 20 Texas. That may not be the most intriguing Friday game, though.

An ACC showdown on Friday night between No. 2 Notre Dame and No. 25 North Carolina carries huge stakes. A loss would eliminate Notre Dame’s margin for error in the race for a spot in the College Football Playoff, while a North Carolina would win would mark a signature victory for Mack Brown’s second season back with the Tar Heels.

Then comes Saturday which, among other matchups, features the yearly celebration of college football known as the Iron Bowl between No. 1 Alabama

College football scores, NCAA top 25 rankings, schedule, games today: Georgia, Auburn battle SEC foes

The stakes are ratcheting up this week in college football as teams jockey for positioning in the first batch of College Football Playoff rankings that will be released Tuesday. The headliner is No. 3 Ohio State’s game with No. 9 Indiana, but several other teams with playoff aspirations will be in action as well.

While No. 4 Clemson’s game at Florida State was postponed hours before kickoff, No. 1 Alabama, No. 6 Florida, No. 7 Cincinnati, No. 8 BYU, No. 10 Wisconsin and No. 11 Oregon will all be in action before the evening wave of games even arrives. It would likely take a significant upset at the top for someone other than the current top-four in the polls — Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Clemson — to crack the debut top four in the CFP rankings.

But it’s been a crazy year, and with a ton of ranked

College football schedule today: TV channels, start times for every Week 12 top 25 game

A telling week of college football is upon us: the last slate of games before the College Football Playoff rankings unveils its first rankings.

What will that first top 25 look like? It’s likely the usual suspects will be at or near the top, but there are several games worth monitoring this weekend that could affect those rankings. Of particular interest will be No. 9 Indiana and No. 3 Ohio State, which face off in a battle to help determine the Big Ten East champion.

The Hoosiers have already beaten Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State, so a win over the Buckeyes — which hasn’t occurred since 1988 — could clinch the division for Indiana. Easier said than done: Ohio State, led by Justin Fields, looks to be the real deal not only in the Big Ten, but also in the Playoff race. Look for a similarly important race in

Where is ‘College GameDay’ this week? Location, schedule, guest picker for Week 12 on ESPN

“College GameDay” is heading back to the gridiron after its brief stay on the golf course for the fall version of The Masters.

This week, Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit and Co. will visit Norman, Okla., for the 2020 version of Bedlam. The game is of special importance to 14th-ranked Oklahoma State: At 5-1, it is the last remaining team from the Big 12 with a chance at making the College Football Playoff. Naturally, No. 18 Oklahoma (5-2. 4-2 Big 12) would love nothing more than to play spoiler.

To that end, look for the Sooners to rely heavily on Spencer Rattler, whose last four games (all Oklahoma wins) have seen him throw for 1,041 yards and 10 touchdowns to two interceptions. Oklahoma State quarterback Spencer Sanders has been less impressive in four games played this season (63 of 93 passing, 766 yards, five touchdowns to three interceptions); can he lead

College football picks, schedule: Predictions against the spread, odds for big top 25 games in Week 12

For the second straight week, the 2020 college football season has been absolutely ravaged by postponements and cancellations caused by COVID-19. With a significant number of games previously scheduled for Saturday now not being played, the slate has been somewhat reduced. Nevertheless, there are two massive games between undefeated, ranked BIg Ten teams that will carry the day and one of college football’s hottest rivalries taking us through the evening hours.

No. 3 Ohio State will look to retain its place atop the Big Ten when it hosts a No. 9 Indiana team that has surprised to start the season and boasts a defense that could give the Buckeyes some trouble. No. 19 Northwestern also hosts a No. 10 Wisconsin team that has been the strongest member of its division as of late but has only suited up for two games this season after a COVID-19 outbreak within the program.

Parma City Schools Career and Technical Education students return to classrooms with hybrid schedule

PARMA, Ohio — There’s no argument that COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on education with students forced to learn remotely or attend school in a hybrid fashion that also includes distant learning.

Nowhere have the adverse effects of the pandemic been felt more than with career and technical education (CTE) classes, where ostensibly the idea is to provide students with hands-on training.

The Parma City School District’s Career and Technical Education program, which currently includes more than 1,000 students district-wide, is doing its best to stay ahead of the game with all programs returning to a hybrid schedule this week while the district remains in remote learning.

“Career technology credentialing processes require a certain amount of laboratory experiences that just aren’t replicable virtually,” Parma City Schools Superintendent Charles Smialek said. “We promised our parents and CTE students all along that we would not jeopardize the credentials or semester hours that they

The Big Ten and Big 12 will gain more clarity in their respective title races in Week 12.

With three Top 25 matchups in the two conferences, we should see more poll movement after the Week 12 results than we saw following Week 11.

The top eight teams in the AP Top 25 and top 11 in the Coaches Poll did not budge due to a combination of inactivity and easy victories. With the lack of movement up top, less than half of the programs in both polls shifted up or down the rankings.

With the Bedlam rivalry approaching in the Big 12 and the top two teams in each Big Ten division facing each other, the top half of the rankings should look much different in a week’s time.

Week 12 Polls

AP Top 25

2. Notre Dame (8-0)

3. Ohio State (3-0)

College football schedule, Week 13 kickoff times: Alabama vs. Auburn in Iron Bowl picked for SEC on CBS

2019-iron-bowl-alabama-auburn.jpg
USATSI

Thanksgiving weekend in the SEC usually brings a slate full of traditional and in-state rivalries that are as engrained into college football’s November routines as the feasts that will be enjoyed across the country. The lack of nonconference games has taken some of those out of rotation, but one of the best rivalries in the entire sport remains. What better pick for the SEC on CBS Game of the Week on Thanksgiving weekend than the rivalry that has divided family and friends in the state of Alabama for decades: the Iron Bowl.

No. 23 Auburn’s trip to No. 1 Alabama has been set for the 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff with Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson and Jamie Erdahl on the call from Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game can be seen on CBS and streamed on CBSSports.com or through CBS All Access and the CBS Sports App on mobile or OTT devices.
