UAH – Education

Prospective Students: Want to visit us?

In response to the COVID-19 situation, we cannot meet in person at the moment, but we can certainly talk or video chat. Email the Chair of the Department for the major or area in which you have interest.  You may also email the Advisor for the program in which you have an interest and the Advisor or Chair can arrange to talk to you by phone or video chat more about our programs.  For more about how to contact the Chair or the Advisor see our website at

The College of Education includes two academic departments – the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and the Department of Kinesiology – as well as the UAH Early Learning Center.

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction focuses on collaborative, elementary, English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and secondary teacher preparation, while the Department of Kinesiology focuses on exercise science and preparing physical education teachers.

It is important to note that admission to the university does not qualify a student for admission to the Teacher Education Program. Because admission to the program is competitive, students are encouraged to contact a College of Education advisor during their freshman or sophomore years.
